A Playa Del Carmen Home is Transformed
Into an Artful Hotel Experience

Playa Del Carmen, Mexico September 9, 2007

In the heart of Playa Del Carmen Mexico, Hotel Tropical Casa Blanca has created an extraordinary vacation villa that honors the expertise of local artisans and builders while enhancing the visitors vacation experience.  The house is a cultural and artistic haven that purposefully reflects the diversity of the city’s urban landscape.

‘We purposefully reviewed our immediate surroundings before renovating the villa on the property.  The design and décor evolved from our experiences in Playa Del Carmen, its history and culture and the expertise of local young builders who still use ancient philosophies in their hand crafted work’ stated David Tomlinson and Nicola Inwood the  new owners of the property located in the center of Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.

The Gran Casa is based on recognition of and respect for the various Mexican cultures that have build Playa Del Carmen into what it is today.

The art lining the walls is the origin of the vacationers experience.  The experience  becomes centered around a collection of photos taken by artist and photographer Janine Kelleher www.janinekelleher.com that guides guests on a virtual tour of Playa Del Carmen.  Observers witness the nuances and subtleties that may be missed in their regular travels.  It is the owner’s intent to encourage visitors to experience and witness the urban areas outside of the popular destinations.  To compliment this visual experience, the hotel has developed an ‘Activity Series’ that packages unique adventures into a guests hotel stay.

The functionally and décor of the villa combined with hotel and concierge services creates a richer experience for visitors.  Local builders, carpenters and design elements were used to ensure the integrity of the philisophy.  River rocks, limestone concrete, jungle wood and ceramics were used to enhance the comfort and simplicity of the guest house.

Hotel Tropical CasaBlanca is a full service ‘Feel Good Hote’l that has been serving Visitors to the Riviera Maya for over 20 years.  The original owners, the Salazar Family handed over their unique property to new owners in 2006 so that the hospitality tradition could be continued.  The philosophy of the hotel is to provide comfortable and simple vacations to international visitors and enhance their stay through education, geotourism and customer service.
