Hotel Tropical CasaBlanca is a Canadian owned and operated 20 room hotel with a 6 bedroom, 5 ½ bath Villa. Located in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico on the Mayan Riviera, the city is 45 minutes south of Cancun and in the heart of cultural, archaeological and water sport areas.  The ‘Feel Good Hotel’ is designed and modeled after the philosophy and idea of comfort and simplicity, a key to the vacation concept the owners and staff  bring to over 20,000 international travelers annually.  With new ownership and management in 2007, this well known Mexican property is transitioning into the boutique hotel industry. 

Hotel Tropical CasaBlanca has been providing hotel services to visitors for over 20 years.  Its unique design is one of a kind in the area, with lush tropical gardens housing rare palm trees, flowers and shrubs that surround the only natural cenote, a fresh water pool indigenous to the Yucatan States on the Caribbean Ocean and Gulf of Mexico, in the area.  Utilizing this natural state to the property, the new owners have monopolized on this uniqueness and commenced a slow renovation of the physical property, specifically the rooms and Villa to enhance the local beauty and artistry of the site while  integrating upgraded services and room designs.  The renovations are using only local materials, local artists and local craftpersons to fill the rooms with new furniture, bathrooms, guest towels, bathrobes and sheets.  The bio-degradable bath accessories are locally made and scented with mayan herbs.  The room design is minimalist in nature with attention to detail in the choice of colour, amenities and material usage.  Limestone concrete, natural white cement, fresh water rocks, recycled glass, natural papers, indigenous woods and sand make up the materials in the rooms.

The on site Villa called the Gran Casa is the only 6 bedroom, 5 ½ bathroom property located in the heart of Playa Del Carmen.  Housing up to 12 people, the Villa is accommodations combined with an art gallery, housing area photos shot by a local artist.  This concept brings Playa Del Carmen into the lives of visitors before they leave the property.  The photos are an artist concept where they are a positive impression on glass. 

On the interior, the Villa has a full kitchen, with an oversized refrigerator/freezer, 6 burner Bosc Gas Stove with oven, Bosc 2 burner electric hot plate, Panasonic convection oven, Bosc Microwave, Kitchen island, wine fridge, stainless steel cutlery, Ceramic plates, crystal glasses and coffee mugs.  A chef is present 8 hours per day for the customers of the Villa, to coordinate and cook the food of their choice.  Food is not included in the price of the Villa, but a grocery service is provided prior to arrival at an extra cost.  The Dining Room seats 12 persons at a locally hand made table made of wood, natural papers and natural fabrics.  The centerpiece of the table is a wooden tray cut from a 250 year old tree and purchased from a local Mayan Village. The sitting area is combined with the kitchen, knowing that most guests like to combine entertaining and food preparations.  The oversized couches are clothed in linen to highlight the beach area this house resides in.  The 6 bedrooms have air conditioning, ceiling fan, 100% cotton sheets, chenille blankets and architectural lighting. Each bathroom is uniquely designed with water saving showers and toilets, floor lighting, 100% cotton towels and biodegradable shower products made locally. The entertainment room has a 42 inch flat screen tv, cd player, DVD player, wet bar and seating for guests.  The art in this room, is done by a local artist that used a decayed leaf from a famous cenote called Angelita located in Tulum, 45 minutes south of Playa Del Carmen and known for its access to cavern and cave systems.

The hotel rooms are either classic rooms with one full size bed, refrigerator, air conditioning, ceiling fans and the same bed and bath amenities as the house, or king rooms with one king bed or Double rooms with two full beds.  Each has unique features: garden views, balconies, terraces or poolside.  Each room has 110V and 220V electrical outlets to accommodate the needs of international and local visitors. 

Hotel and Villa guests have free wifi for personal computers, community areas, morning coffee service, access to onsite concierge services, Pool access, beach towel service, beach access to the beach across the street 25 meters from the property, 24 hours security, daily maid service, area information, and an onsite dive center for local water sport activities.
